So, you’re about to graduate visual arts and your probably thinking; “what’s next?” right!?

Well, today I’m going tell you as much as possible about career paths and opportunities that visual artists can follow. Funny enough, You’re not limited to anything. Your field can be determined by your passion, or your skills. What’s more important to you?

The market is begging for visual artist in almost every field. Now this can be broken down into various fields such as; Drawing, Painting, Sculpting, Photography, Graphic Design, Film and textile design. So Pick your Poison. There are a few limiting factors to these fields such as skills required, but they can be developed over time or in an internship depending on your preference. As there are man paid and unpaid internship positions available.

The skills required are relevant to the firm you are planning to work with. Whereas if you have bigger dreams and intend to move to on as an art director, Although most positions require some years of experience. Business marketing and interpersonal skills are a plus if you are hoping to succeed in working with professionals in a competitive environment.

Alternatively, Visual artist can also consider teaching, Desktop publishing, Web Developing, Exhibition Management, Social Media Management, Dance, Drama and Theater as professional career paths. So if you were wondering where to go next after graduation. I guess the question is, Where do you want to go!
